I got the job!!!

I don't think of it as a job really but I went in to see Carolee today after taking my stuff to the store several days ago. Anyway, When I asked to see Carolee the girl at the register, who ended up being her daughter I think, said "Oh You are Deanna Payne?" As if she already knew who I was. So that made me happy. Then Carolee gave me a tour of the factory behind the store and said she loved my stuff and wants me to start teaching classes by the end of August. So the hardest part is over. Now I just need to get my class together and get samples down to the store for display. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Scraplift challenge...

Ok so here it is. I think I did this in record time! I love this Carolee's Creations Christmas paper and decided it goes well with the summer watermelon pictures. I used some summer pictures that I have been wanting to scrap for my photography challenge at Keepsake Trends so I killed two birds...

Company gone and getting on with life...

Well, Saturday morning my BIL calls from a phone number in Utah. He and his family are in town for a missionary reunion. So they made sure to call us and see if they could come and visit us. Saturday I had a disaster of a house so I spent most of the day getting it ready for company. I was a little bummed cause I was planning on participating in a bunch of challenges at Keepsake Trends and Just 4 Keeps. But at least I feel good cause my house is really clean for once. I even cleaned the bathroom downstairs myself for the secind time since living here. And boy did it need it. That is the room Makenna has been cleaning for her chores and it just isn't the same as when mom cleans it. Oh yeah and side note, my house cleaner just moved to Provo so I have to start cleaning all of my house myself. YUCK! I think I have been spoiled!

Anyway, we enjoyed a visit from Sunday after church until almost dinner time yesterday. The kids played on the waterslide and went for rides with Jimmy and William on the quads. Sandra and I just had a good time catching up on all the family news.

So my company is gone and I am feeling a little better today. Oh yeah, I haven't posted about how bad that new drug ended up being for me. It had some side effects that I just don't want to deal with. So I am calling the doc today to get back on the one that makes me groggy all day. I decided to take my husbands advice and "Pick my Poison".

Today I plan to do a challenge that I found on Georganna Hall's blog. She issued a scraplifting challenge and the page is too cute. So I am going to get that done today. I am also going to go to Carolee's today and get some 12 inch pages shrunk to 6" for the mothers day books I am still working on. Yeah I know, lousy daughter I am. I hope they like these anyway. I am so excited to know that Carolees has the large copy machine. That will be worth a ton. Anyway, I will post my scraplifted page after I finish. I may just make cards out of the scraplift too! Lazy day...

Well today, I made phone calls and finished a nightlight for Emily for Christmas. Other than that I didn't do much. Oh I take that back. I finally went to Carolee's Creations to give her some of my stuff and my application to teach classes for her. I think I will teach my nightlights for sure. Here is the one I made today for Emily. Her room is going to be Western when the baby is born. She will be sharing a room with Mason so I had to choose something that could be boy and girl. However, William insists this nightlight is too feminine for Mason so I am thinking of another one for him but leave off the ribbon at the bottom. It will just be trimmed in rick rack.


So I took a nap today, while Mason was napping and my girls where playing in the water at the neighbors house. It felt good to get a nap after the kind of sleep I have been getting at night.

I also got a new prescription for nausea. It supposedly won't make me drowsy. Thanks to Becky Higgins for recommending I get it. I finally did and tonight I will take it and hopefully not be groggy in the morning. Althought the lack of sleep at night could be the cause of my sluggish nature lately. Or maybe just the fact that I am carrying around quite a few extra pounds. The weather has been beautiful lately but I have been inside scrapping too much to enjoy it much. So tonight I sat on my front porch and just enjoyed watching my kids play.

I bought some replacement plants for the ones that didn't make it. I have to get those planted tomorrow. I am also going to take the kids to story time at the library tomorrow. So although today was a lazy day tomorrow should be a little more productive.

OH AND CONGRATS TO RYAN AND ELLY! They had their twins this evening! Reagan(a girl) was 7 pounds 13 ounces and Warner(a boy) was 6 pounds 8 ounces. That is over 14 pounds of baby! What a Woman Elly is!

Getting things done...

I am determined to get gifts made for Christmas and Makenna's birthday this year. So I am starting now to get it all accomplished. So here is a cute little decoration I made for Makenna's bedroom. I think she will like it!

I also plan on making nightnights for Amy Emily and Mason. Remember these...

I am going to make Western ones for Emily and Mason. They will be sharing a cowboy/cowgirl room after the baby is born. Amy's nightlight will be Strawberry Shortcake of course. I hope she never outgrows that. I think I am also going to decorate their light switch plates too.

And I am going to get an ABC album done for Makenna's birthday. I still have not finished my Mothers Day gifts so I think I am going to go out and get a late gift for each of them and then save these little albums for Christmas gifts. That way I can get rid of my guilt!

So here is one down and lots more to go!

Thanks to Lisa for emailing me today to tell me that I was posted on Heidi's blog. I was excited to see that. Except for the fact that the whole world gets to see me not dressed for the occasion. I never win anything and I never expected to be on her blog. If I could go back I would have straightened my hair and wore my cute prego clothes instead of my comfy ones! What a mess!!!

Wow! I have got a ton of work to do to get my scrap space functional again. Actually it is almost there with just some minor work. But I have a ton of new supplies to put away. I am actually excited to have this problem. I love new stuff! So that is what I will be doing for the next few days in my spare time. Along with getting some of the challenges at Keepsake Trends finished. I got so far behind on everything since I was away. I took a rushed trip to AZ to help Ginger get her store opened and to be able to attend the Heidi Swapp night at the store. It was a blast and I actually won something. I will post a picture of that later.

So my trip to AZ was really fun. Thank you so much Tammi and Shanna for letting me impose for so long. I spent about 10 days with Tammi and 4 days with Shanna. I would have stayed longer with Shanna but I didn't want to overwhelm her with all my kids along with her day care kids. I had a great time scrapping with both Tammi and Shanna and I got 22 PAGES FINISHED while there. Can you believe that? That is a record for me! Anyway, I didn't take any pictures of my kids while I was there. Dumb I know. But Shanna has some fun water slide pics on her blog so I won't post them here too. The only pics I really took were at the store on the Heidi Swapp night so I will post those along with the pics of my prize.

So coming home was nice. Except for the fact that I HAD to drive it straight through since my kids were all sick with fevers and yucky noses and I didn't want to sleep at our friends house and get any of them sick. So after a long trip and long drive it was nice to come home, to a CLEAN house believe it or not. Thanks William! Remember the last post I made about my trauma with those geraniums? Well William repotted them while I was gone and they are doing beautifully. Here is a picture of the salvaged beauties...


William also did a great job watering my new vegetable and fruit garden. Here are some pictures of it. The first picture is what my plants in the backyard look like. Then the others are the plants in my front bed. I planted my strawberries a long time ago and they are just now finally starting to do ok. It must have been a little too cold still so I will most likely plant a few more larger plants closer to eachother and just worry about thinning them next year. My Green Beans and cauliflower are doing really well. And even though my tomatoes are struggling from freezing memorial weekend they actually have tomatoes on them too! So I am thrilled about that. I do have some replanting to do for a few plants that just didn't make it. Mostly because I didn't get them planted right after I bought them. Anyway, here are the pictures... Ok pictures in next post since I have reached my limit I think.

What a day already!

Ok, This is Amy's first day of Summer and Makenna's last day of school. So plans were to get out of bed and take Makenna to school so I could drive this GIANT pot of geraniums to her school. This was her gift to her teacher. Anyway, after tossing and turning with back pain all night and deciding to sleep until 10 am(still tossing), I woke up took a hot bath in my jetted tub, and then got ready for the day. I fed my kids breakfast and got them dressed to pick Makenna up at school and see her teacher. Well, I forgot to water the flowers last night so this morning I decided to give them a little water and pull off some of the shedding petals. They were so beautiful still. Since they were wet I put them behind my van so I could actually go find my kids at the neighbors house. (I think I will be doing this a lot this summer.) Anyway, I put Mason in the car and made sure the girls were buckled. Then I FORGOT to walk around the rear of my car to put the flower pot in the back of the van. I went around the front, got in, and started down my driveway. If I would have remembered those dang flowers before I started turning I think they could have made it. BUT, NO I had to totally crunch them! Oh William wasn't happy about a $20 pot of flowers for the teacher not going to the teacher. Then to hear I went to get some more he about died! I guess if I look at the bright side. The pot was ruined so I couldn't give them away. But I wanted some too so I salvaged the flowers themselves and I think they will be ok if I repot them.

Funny thing was, when we drove up to the house after taking some new flowers to the teacher, Emily saw William's truck and said. "Mom, you are so busted!" I couldn't help but laugh at her. I will have to take a picture of these flowers after they getting repotted!
