House of Blues...

Ok, I guess that title of my post should read seeing red! This morning I went to check out the progress on our house. It seems that nothing is getting done. Our cabinets came in about a month ago I think. And they have been waiting for the flooring to go in. The floor guys are waiting on the painters, the painters are waiting on the trim guys. And the trim guys aren't getting their job done right or even at all. So who should be resposible for all of this. The Foreman. He is the guy that oversees everything. He has no attention to detail for a custom home job. He is used to track homes where everything is the same. Anyway, I called the contractor and met with him this morning and let it all out. BIG thing BUGGING me is that Dynek promised we would be done by the beginning of September. Thursday he told William that we will do a walk through in about 4 weeks. Not good enough for me. So I lit a fire under them. I told them that they told me building a house should be fun and I am no longer having any fun. I am mad and stressed out. I still don't even know how much our house is going to cost exactly. We are praying that with William's company not getting off the ground as well as we hoped by now that we will still be able to afford it. William is very worried and we have decided that I will maybe start doing day care again after we move in. I don't mind but I won't like being tied to the house. Ok, after venting to the contractor I got a call from him to meet me at the house at 3pm. So I get there and he had about 4 guys there to walk through the house with me and talk about all the stuff still needing done. I spent two hours there with the custom trim guy. He was very easy to work with. Loved him! I am hoping he is as good as he seems. I will find out tomorrow cause he said he will be there at 6 am to start his work. Yeah my pity party worked! They are finally on the ball and finishing my house. The cabinets were installed when I got back at 3pm today and the tile was in on the bathroom floors and the shower and tub walls. Wow, it looks amazing. I love my cabinets. After stressing for months and changing my mind about four times I finally made a decision and I am so loving them. I will take a bunch of pictures of the house tomorrow to share.

Oh, other good news...William might be getting an awesome business deal going with our contractor. If all goes well this will be the break William needed to get FHA certified so they can start doing a bunch more loans and not have to turn so many away. Dynek already sends some loans to William but I think this would be something that will give him insentive to send them all William's way. We will see how it goes. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us. And, if you are the praying sort, we could use some help there too!
